Project Information

Project Overview

The City of Madison is proposing to install new sanitary sewer main and abandon existing sanitary sewer on E Washington Ave, from N Fair Oaks Ave to Reindahl Ave in 2024. The proposed design will provide the necessary sewer capacity for the 958 Rise Ln property, currently in the stage of redevelopment.

Project Limits

E Washington Ave, between N Fair Oaks Ave and Reindahl Ave. Construction will occur in the south eastbound traffic lane.

Project Schedule

The project has a final completion date of Nov. 15, 2024 or 40 calendar days from the start of work, whichever date is earliest.​​​​ Work may begin as early as Sept. 3, 2024.

November 6, 2024 Update

This project is complete.

September 30, 2024 Update

Speedway Sand & Gravel have started work on the sewer replacement project, as of September 26. Work is anticipated to be complete within 4 weeks. Please pay attention to traffic control signals and bicycle route detours.

July 8, 2024 Update

The project has been posted for bidding on June 27, 2024 and bids will open for review on July 18, 2024. The bid open date was extended to account for the Independence Day holiday.

April 5, 2024 Update

This project page has been created. City Engineering is requesting BPW approval for resolutions to establish an assessment district and approve plans, specifications, and a schedule of assessments on April 17, 2024
