The road from Morningside to Stoughton Rd was only paved with temporary asphalt due to low temperatures and frozen gravel base. The contractor will temporary restore the terrace for winter.
In spring 2020, crews will finish the project with: retaining wall railings, retaining wall block staining, colored stamped concrete in the medians, permanent asphalt surface (Morningside Avenue to Stoughton Road), permanent pavement marking (Lakeview Avenue to Stoughton Road), street lighting, and terrace restoration (Lakeview Avenue to Stoughton Road). This last work will take approximately four weeks to complete.
Buckeye Road will remain closed to thru traffic over the winter until completion in the spring of 2020. Dane County will plow and salt the road throughout the winter. The detour and road-closed signs will remain in place throughout the winter alerting traffic the road remains under construction. The road is currently open to local traffic only.
