Project Overview
Remove 100% of existing mortar and repoint using historically appropriate mortar type and profile at the Garver Office (Olbrich Cottage), a locally designated landmark that is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Remove unused metal anchors and remove and replace damaged brick with historically appropriate materials.
July 05, 2023 update: B&B Restoration has finished the repointing work except for the sill replacement which will occur in the coming weeks. The mortar used for the repointing matches the mortar that was used on the Garver Feed Mill Building. Matching the mortar color and texture allows the buildings to have the appropriate historic appearance and to maintain their visual connection as the main mill building and the mill building’s front office. Mortar color is a small, but important detail to preserve the history of these designated landmark buildings.
