Lower Badger Mill Creek Pond

April 15, 2024 Update

Ecological Restoration of the Lower Badger Mill Ponds is starting! This includes integrated pest management to remove invasive species and establish new wetlands and prairie plants and trees along with native seeding.  For more information visit the Lower Badger Mill Creek Ecological Restoration project page.  For project plans and documents on the pond construction please see Lower Badger Mill Creek Pond. Roadwork to extend Feathers Edge Drive and Treetops Drive will commence in summer of 2024 and the contract is being put out for competitive bids.  This work will also include a bikepath from Mid Town Road to the upper project limits.

Project Information

Project Overview

The Stormwater Utility is proposing a project to construct a series of regional detention basins north of Mid Town Road, and east of Meadow Road. The purpose of the ponds will be to contain flood water, reducing downstream flooding and minimizing local flood impacts. As part of the project City Engineering is proposing to extend Feather Edge Road from the existing terminus to Meadow Road. The City Parks Division will also be discussing a future master planning effort for the proposed Hill Creek Park expansion.

March 6, 2024 Update

April 8, 2023 Update

Construction work on the project is scheduled to start the week of May 8, 2023. The limits of the project are confined to City owned property located at 1661 Meadow Road, 1524 Feather Edge Drive, and 10002 Treetops Drive, as well as within public street right-of-way on Meadow Road. Work will include excavation of stormwater ponds and channels, construction of access paths, and construction of a bridge. The contractor performing the work is Integrity Grading and Excavation, Inc. Construction activities are anticipated to finish up by the end of August.
