Project Overview

This project will extend the pavement at the Olin waste Transfer Station, to provide space for a new waste drop-off area. A public access drive for the drop-off site will also be added, to separate City and public vehicle traffic, increasing safety at the site.

July 03, 2023 update: Continuing on with the design process. Resolving issues with the location of existing landfill monitoring equipment and the new access road, finalizing design grades and working on plans, details, and specifications in preparation for going out to bid.

October 02, 2023 update: The waste drop off site planning is temporarily on hold while staff determines best options to meet the existing storm water management ordinances and assists Streets Division in Master Planning the site to best utilize existing space for multiple functions and new equipment.

Facilities Staff are creating several Master Planning options for the site to ensure best traffic flow and public safety while still maximizing City operational needs.  We anticipate completing design in the second quarter and bidding the project for completion yet this year.

Other project priorities last fall within the Engineering Division caused this project to be temporarily put on hold.  First quarter 2024 will see the final design for this project nearing completion in preparation for contract bidding in May.
