Project Information

Project Overview

The purpose of this project is to resurface the street and replace storm sewer on S. Pinckney Street from E. Doty Street to E. Wilson Street. Proposed work includes replacement of the asphalt pavement and road base and replacement of the curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm sewer and private storm sewer connections as needed.  Street improvements would also include the installation of a street median island, adding a valet pullout area adjacent to the hotel development, and installing bike lane pavement markings.

Project Updates

This project is complete. 

The new storm sewer main and storm inlet structures on S. Pinckney have been installed. This week, the contractor is constructing the underground support system for the median island, which will allow two new trees to be planted and grow within the island. The following week, new curb and gutter will be installed along the northern side of S. Pinckney St and for the median island. After curb and gutter is installed, work will resume on the median island and the street will be prepared for asphalt paving.

S. Pinckney Street (E. Doty St to E. Wilson St) will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project. The anticipated completion date for the project is Nov. 5, 2023.
