Last Updated: 07/19/2019
Contractor plans to pave all streets the week of July 22 and continue with restoration.
The roads are open to local traffic only.
The general sequence of street construction will go as follows: tree removals, sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, asphalt & concrete removals, new retaining wall, new gravel, new curb & gutter, new driveway aprons, new sidewalk, new asphalt paving. It is anticipated that the construction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer will take 2-3 months. Grading, concrete and asphalt work will take place in June and July.
The project includes street improvements and public utility replacement including sanitary sewer main and laterals. Existing water main will be replaced around the Shepard Terrace cul-de-sac. The remaining water main will not be replaced. Storm sewer inlets will be added to the intersection of Shepard Terrace and Chamberlain Avenue and along Shepard Terrace near the Hoyt Park staircase. The streets in the neighborhood have partial areas of sidewalk and the project will connect these locations of sidewalk together.
