Station 1 (W. Dayton Street) on the ‘B’ shift
Why did you want to pursue this career?
Volunteering for my hometown fire department sparked an interest in becoming a full-time firefighter/EMT. I liked the challenge of having to use critical thinking to help someone in their time of need.
Why did you want to work in Madison or for the Madison Fire Department?
I’ve worked on projects around Madison, which helped show how much Madison has to offer. Madison Fire Department offers a lot of opportunities to receive additional training with the special teams.
What advice would you give to someone hoping to join the MFD?
If you’re interested in joining the MFD, work hard through the hiring process to achieve your goal. The effort you put in will pay off with a very rewarding career helping the people of Madison.
