Where are you stationed?

Fire Station 14 (Dairy Drive) on the 'A' shift

Why did you want to pursue this career?

I was motivated by a desire to help others, the excitement of the job, and the sense of community that comes with being part of a team. I find a lot of fulfillment being able to serve in the community I work and making a positive impact during emergencies. The camaraderie and continuous learning of the job make it a fun place to work.

What have you enjoyed about the stations and territories you’ve served?

When I first got into the stations at MFD, I was stationed at Station 8 and now currently Station 14 on the ‘A’ shift, which are both on the east side. Working on the east side provides us the opportunity to work with a wide, diverse population. You never know what we may get, from EMS calls to car accidents on the interstate to a warehouse structure fire.

What was your career prior to MFD?

Prior to my career at MFD, I worked for a fire department in southeastern Wisconsin for three years, and prior to that, I was a business insurance salesperson in Madison.
