Firefighters Investigating Cause of Garage Fire

Firefighters responded to 2123 Muir Field Road for reports of a garage on fire. Smoke was visible from blocks away as Ladder Co. 7 and other west side companies approached. Firefighters found a six-unit unattached garage with flames coming from one of the garage units and heavy smoke from the eaves and two other garage units. 

Ladder Co. 7 began attacking the main seat of the fire, and they began forcing entry into the adjacent garages to make sure fire had not spread to those units. A total of two garage units had active fire in them. After the fire was knocked down, items were removed to ensure the fire was completely extinguished. 

No injuries were reported. Damage from the fire is estimated at around $100,000. The cause remains under investigation.
