Grant Opportunity for Neighborhood Improvements

posted

On Thursday January 21, the Department of Planning and Community & Economic Development, Planning Division, will host the 2010 Neighborhood Grant Program Q&A. This is an opportunity for representatives from neighborhood associations, business associations, planning councils, and other eligible neighborhood groups to discuss grant project proposals with City staff and to ask questions about how to apply for the grant program. Since 1999, the Planning Division's Neighborhood Grant Program has provided funding for over 200 projects which have built capacity at the local level, ultimately, improving the quality of life within the neighborhood and the City as a whole. We look forward to seeing what neighborhoods propose to accomplish in 2010. From beautifying the streetscape, to building leadership skills, to planning for the neighborhood's future, a neighborhood grant can protect valued neighborhood qualities and promote positive change. Proposals for more than $2,000: 1) Submit Project Intent Form by February 8; 2) City staff will contact you to discuss proposals and invite qualifying neighborhoods to apply; 3) Submit Full Grant applications by March 1st. Proposals for less than $2,000: Submit Mini-Grant Application by March 1st. What will your neighborhood do?
