Traffic Delays Expected Saturday Night/Sunday Morning

Freakfest 2010 will be held on State Street Saturday night, October 30th. This will mean roads near the venue will be shutdown. Motorists should be aware streets that cross State Street between the Capitol Square and the UW's Library Mall will be blocked off around 5:00 p.m. They will remain closed until approximately 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Streets that will be barricaded include: State St., Lake St., W. Gilman St., N. Frances St., N. Henry St., W. Gorham St., N. Carroll St., W. Mifflin St., N. Fairchild St., W. Dayton St., and W. Johnson St. Motorists trying to get through the Isthmus should consider using John Nolen Dr. The Madison Police Department urges citizens to be patient and to plan ahead as traffic delays are expected. Those attending the ticketed event will be able to access public parking ramps, but can only enter the venue at designated areas. There are three entrances this year: Lake St. @ State St., Gilman St. @ State St., and Johnson St. @ State St. Those with questions about Freakfest - music, food, etc. - should contact Frank Productions.
