Stories And Images Of America's Combat Veterans
A Multimedia Documentary Exhibition of American War Veterans In recognition of Veteran's Day, the Madison Arts Commission is pleased to present, After the Wars. After the Wars is an exhibition that tells the stories of ten war veterans from across the Midwest from WWII to today. The project combines short audio documentaries of each veteran with photographic essays of their lives today. The exhibit was created by the father-son team of Ben and Paul Calhoun through a partnership of the Wisconsin Humanities Council and Chicago Public Media. The work has been featured by WBEZ, the public radio affiliate in Chicago, the Invisible Institute in Chicago, and by the Third Coast Audio Festival. Ben Calhoun is a producer for the Public Radio show "This American Life", and an award-winning public radio reporter. Paul Calhoun is a nationally and internationally acclaimed documentary photographer whose work has been supported through grants from numerous public and private foundations. The Madison display will run from November 11th through December 31st and is open to the public.
