Mayor, Monona Terrace Board Nominate Gregg McManners as Monona Terrace Director

Mayor Dave Cieslewicz announced today that he and the Monona Terrace Board of Directors have nominated Gregg McManners as Monona Terrace Director. McManners will replace current Director Jim Hess, who is retiring at the end of his contract on December 10. McManners currently serves as the Director of Operations for Monona Terrace. "On behalf of the Monona Terrace Board of Directors, we are thrilled to have someone with Gregg's talents and know-how moving into the role as Executive Director of Monona Terrace," Board President Mona Adams Winston said. "In addition, his well-established network of connections in the Madison area enhances the breadth of experience he brings to the position. We look forward to the continued great success of our facility under Gregg's leadership." "Gregg is a proven leader at Monona Terrace with the skill and experience to ensure the continued success of our convention center," Mayor Cieslewicz said. "I am proud to present his nomination to the Common Council." In addition to serving as Monona Terrace's Director of Operations, McManners has also worked as the Vice President of Operations for T. Wall Properties and General Manager of the Richard E. Jacobs Group. McManners has also served on the Board of the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau and has a master's degree in business administration. "While it is my honor to be entrusted with the leadership of Monona Terrace, credit must also be given to the extremely dedicated and talented staff who have guided our facility to the highest standard of excellence in the convention center industry. It is in large part due to the efforts of the whole Monona Terrace team that I have been given this great opportunity," McManners said. Pending confirmation by the Common Council, McManners will start as Director on January 3.
