
Femrite Drive Fire Causes $50,000 Damage
No one was hurt from a fire on Femrite Drive, but 3 dogs and 2 cats were believed to have perished in the fire. 911 Communications Center received a call at 1:21 pm to report a motor home fire. As fire crews were approaching, they noticed a large black plume of smoke in the sky. Crews got on scene and found smoke coming from a hobby auto-shop building and quickly extinguished the fire. Fire crews also extinguished fire to a motor home and two small sheds. Homes were not threatened by the fire. Red Cross is assisting two people with temporary housing and clothing. A motor home was totaled as a result of the fire. Two sheds and the hobby auto-shop also suffered fire damage. Damage is estimated at $50,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
