Madison Parks, Mallards present the Rubber Ducky River Race

The Madison Mallards, Madison Parks, and West Bend present the "Remarkable Rubber Ducky River Race" Date: Saturday, May 14, 2011 Time: Noon - 2 p.m. Event Location: Burr Jones Park (1820 East Washington Blvd) and Yahara River Prices: $2/one duck or $10/six ducks To purchase your ducks in advance: www.mallardsbaseball.com The Madison Mallards Baseball Club, Madison Parks, the Madison Parks Foundation, and West Bend are teaming up for the Remarkable Rubber Ducky River Race at Burr Jones Park, 1820 East Washington Ave. on the Yahara River. The fun-filled event will be held on May 14 from Noon - 2 p.m. and all proceeds of the event will benefit the Goodman Pool Scholarship Fund. You may purchase Rubber Ducks in advance online at Mallardsbaseball.com or on the day of the event. There will be a limited number of Rubber Ducks available so we encourage event-goers to get there as early as possible or to pre-purchase. All age groups are welcome to participate. The first 500 participants will also receive a Rubber Duck as a keepsake from the event. The grand prize for the winner of the race will be a party for 10 at the "Duck Pond" on Opening Day (June 7) including the opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, 10 great seats for the game and a $100 gift card. The grand prize winner will also have the opportunity to receive an additional $1,000 in cash if he/she purchases optional insurance for their duck(s) courtesy of West Bend. "Goodman Pool scholarships provide hundreds of kids in Madison the opportunity to learn to swim," says Kevin Briski, Madison Parks Superintendent. "Madison Parks thanks our sponsors for their support of this event and of the scholarship fund." In addition to the Remarkable Rubber Ducky Race, Mallards mascot Maynard G. Mallard will be on-hand to greet fans, and kids can test their skills with the Speed Pitch, T-Ball Game, and other games. The Madison Mallards open their 2011 season at the "Duck Pond" on June 7. Season ticket packages are now on sale. Goodman Pool is scheduled to open for the season on Friday, June 10. Lessons are filling up quickly.
