Beat the Heat TODAY at Goodman Pool Goodman Pool will be open from 2-7p.m. - weather permitting Madison, WI | Madison Parks is excited to announce that Goodman Pool, 325 Olin Avenue, will open TODAY & TOMORROW, June 8 & 9 from 2-7p.m. for a pre-season Beat the Heat cool off swim- WEATHER PERMITTING. The weather can change quickly, so please call ahead to check. 608-264-9292. The Season Opening Day is Friday, June 10 from noon - 7p.m. To honor the pool benefactors, Irwin and Robert Goodman, the first official day of the swimming season has been named "Goodman Day." Goodman's Jewelers, 220 State Street, will be sponsoring the day by providing free admission to the first 500 kids to come to the pool on June 10. At 2p.m. a special ceremony thanking the continued support of the Goodman Foundation & Goodmans Jewelers will commence with some words from Mayor Paul Soglin and Madison Parks Superintendent Kevin Briski. Also in attendance will be EG Schramka from the Goodman Foundation and John Hayes from Goodmans Jewelers. Cypress Spray Park, 902 Magnolia Lane, has opened a couple of days early - thanks to the record high temperatures this week. The spray park opened on June 7 at 2pm., and will be open daily throughout the summer season from 11a.m. - 7p.m. Cypress Spray Park features both a wet and a dry play area. The wet play area has misting and low spray water features for toddlers and pre-schoolers and rain shower and cascading water features for adolescents. The wet play area is fenced and unlocked daily in the summer months by a park attendant. BB Clarke, Olbrich, Tenney and Vilas Park Beach hours will be daily from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Bernie's, Esther, James Madison, Olin, Spring Harbor and Warner Beach hours will be daily from 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Conditions of the beaches change often.
