
Goodman Day Opening Day for Goodman Pool to be Rescheduled Today Due to Cool Temperatures

Madison - Unfortunately, due to cool temperatures, Goodman Pool, 325 Olin Ave., is closed today. The previously scheduled "Goodman Day" activities will be rescheduled to a later date. Staff will make every attempt to open the pool for the season on Saturday, June 11. The first session of Saturday Swim Lessons starts Saturday, June 18 and weekday Swim Lessons will begin Monday, June 20 as scheduled. The weather can change quickly, so please call ahead or check the www.cityofmadison.com/parks/pool for any changes in openings/closings of the pool. Goodman Pool: (608) 264-9292. The Goodman Pool season is based on the Madison Metropolitan School District's summer break calendar. Cypress Spray Park, 902 Magnolia Lane, The spray park schedule will coorespond with Goodman Pool in regards to weather related closings. Madison Parks beaches will have lifeguards on duty beginning Saturday, June 11. BB Clarke, Olbrich, Tenney and Vilas Park Beach hours will be daily from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Bernie's, Esther, James Madison, Olin, Spring Harbor and Warner Beach hours will be daily from 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Conditions of the beaches change often. David Landau, beloved local children's storyteller and musician to entertain at this 2nd annual celebration of two philanthropic brothers' lives. Sunday, June 12 from 2:00 - 6:00pm at the Goodman Community Center 149 Waubesa St. 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for an afternoon of FREE entertainment and activities: - David Landau, local children's storyteller and musician will perform at 3:30 p.m. - Build your own ice cream sundaes available all-day long - Bubble making and wands - Bouncy castle and inflatable climbing train cars - Gym activities with tunnels, tubes, balls and scooters and hoola hoops - Take home party favors - If it's hot, there will be water games!
