Cornucopia Inc is an arts and wellness activities center run by and for adults who have mental health issues. Through peer mentorship, they celebrate creativity and diversity. They promote growth and dignity by helping members develop individual strengths and talents for use in building upon self-directed recovery goals and community/life skills. Art gives voice to the otherwise mute or hidden dimensions of our being. Time out to have clear thoughts and peace of mind. Art can heal, reconcile, and give direction. It is a purposeful and optimistic activity that requires discipline and practice. By making creative and artistic activity a part of our daily life, we can strengthen and revitalize ourselves, and build resilience to stress and anxiety. At Cornucopia, we make the decisions about our own creative process. Cornucopia is a creative social environment, an ongoing informal network of friends and acquaintances who work, play and grow in our time together. The Madison Arts Commission's ARTspace program is open to all Madison visual artists who would like to showcase original two-dimensional works in highly utilized city spaces.
