Causeway Centre Returned to Property Owners

Investigation Continues

City of Madison fire investigators have turned over the Causeway Centre Office Building at 900 John Nolen Drive to the owners of the property. The investigation into the cause and origin of Tuesday's fire will continue, but as a parallel investigation in coordination with the building's insurers. Property owners say they are still weighing the risks of allowing tenants access to the building due to structural instability. A structural engineer is being consulted to help make that determination. A damage estimate also remains uncertain, though it is likely to rise above the current assessed valuation of the building, plus the value of its contents. Certain areas of the building continue to smolder, and Madison's Ladder Company 6 responded for the report of another flare-up late this morning.
