
Statement from Madison Parks concerning the accident at James Madison Park

Earlier this afternoon a young woman was injured at James Madison Park by a city truck driven a Madison Parks employee. The employee was delivering bark mulch for a maintenance project. In a statement from Mayor Paul Soglin and Parks Superintendent Kevin Briski: "Our hearts go out to the young woman who was injured this afternoon at James Madison Park as well as to the Parks employee driving the truck." Madison Parks staff is cooperating fully with the Madison Police's ongoing investigation of this accident. As is the protocol after any accident, staff will review all safety protocols when doing maintenance projects in a park. Madison Parks will not be commenting further until its investigation is complete.
