Mineral Point-Junction Road Spring 2014 Construction Start

posted

The City of Madison, in cooperation with Dane County and Wisconsin State Department of Transportation, is proud to announce the beginning of the 2014 construction phase of the Mineral Point Road and Junction Road intersection.

Traffic on both roadways will be shifted to one side of the roadway while construction activities occur on the other. Eastbound and Westbound drivers on Mineral Point Road will utilize the south side of the roadway while construction occurs on the north side. Northbound and Southbound drivers on Junction Road/S Junction Road will use the lanes on the west side of the roadway while construction occurs on the east side. The new bridge and jug handle will continue to operate as normal during this phase.

The traffic switch and beginning of 2014 construction is planned for March 19 (weather dependent) and projected to be complete by August 31.

All businesses remain open along the project and access will be maintained throughout the project. The City hosts an open meeting for residents, owners and/or businesses to ask questions and raise concerns on the first and third Tuesday of every month. The meetings are at 2:30 PM and are located at the job trailer (southwest corner of Mineral Point Road & Junction Road). The first meeting for 2014 will be held March 18.
