A Graduation Celebration

Following the completion of another successful Detective Cyber Camp, the press is invited to join the newest graduates at a brief graduation ceremony. Madison Police Chief Michael Koval will be on hand to confer diplomas on this latest class of youthful investigators. The West District Police station at 1710 McKenna Blvd is hosting the event scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm on Friday August 8.
Once again this year, several officers from MPD, other law enforcement agencies, community-based organizations and volunteers have joined together to host a number of "youth academies" over the last few weeks.   All of these youth academies, including the Middle School Detective Cyber Camp seek to:
• Build a relationship of trust with community youth, their families, and neighborhoods.
• Educate and interest youth on the role and work of law enforcement.
• Instill and nurture leadership knowledge and qualities in these youth to take back into their homes and communities.
