
Dane County Libraries Host Free Wisconsin Film Festival Previews
Eleven Dane County libraries offer film screenings and discussion
Get ready for the Wisconsin Film Festival with free “Sneak Peek” previews of the 17th annual Wisconsin Film Festival! These events will offer residents across Dane County a chance to watch trailers for this year's films, learn about the ins and outs of the Wisconsin Film Festival from festival staff, and enjoy guided discussions about the largest campus-based film festival in the United States.

Two special Children’s Sneak Peek events will preview this year's new Big Screens, Little Folks children's film series. Watch short films made just for children, trailers for children's films that will be playing at the Festival, and learn about the Film Festival from Karin Kolb, Youth Programming Specialist.

The fun continues with the 3rd annual Pinney Mini Film Fest on Friday, March 27, 6-8 pm at the Pinney Library, 204 Cottage Grove Road, Madison. Ben Reiser, Wisconsin Film Festival Coordinator will emcee an evening of locally made films and Q&A sessions with film directors including BEFORE YOU with director Michael Vollmann (winner of a 2014 Wisconsin’s Own Golden Badger Award), THE ROUND BARNS OF VERNON COUNTY with directors David Macasaet and Shahin Izadi, and MAZ-ZO-MAN-NEE with director Jon Salimes.
These events are a collaboration between Dane County libraries and the Wisconsin Film Festival, and are funded in part by funded in part by Beyond the Page, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Madison Community Foundation.

The Wisconsin Film Festival is presented by the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Arts Institute in association with the Department of Communication Arts.
