Resumes To Be Accepted to Fill 16th Aldermanic District Vacancy

City of Madison Common Council President, Samba Baldeh, announced today that he is accepting resumes from residents of the 16th Alder District interested in filling the position to be vacated by Alderperson Denise DeMarb. Alderperson DeMarb will resign from the Council effective June 30, 2018. The Common Council Executive Committee (CCEC) determined at their June 19, 2018 meeting that the person appointed will serve until a 16th District Alderperson is elected on April 2, 2019 and takes the official oath of office.

Resumes must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018. Resumes should include:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Home telephone number
  • Work telephone number
  • E-mail address
  • A biographical resume should include education, work, neighborhood, and civic experience
  • A statement on why the applicant wishes to serve
  • A statement of what the applicant wants to accomplish
  • A statement if the applicant plans to run for alderperson in the Spring 2019 election
     

The CCEC will review all resumes and interview applicants at a special meeting to be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in Room 354, City-County Building (210 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard). The CCEC will make an appointment recommendation to the Common Council to be acted upon at their July 24, 2018 meeting.
