Thousand Oaks Park Opens Thursday
A ribbon cutting ceremony will celebrate the opening of a new park in the 1000 Oaks Neighborhood, on Madison’s west side. Alder Paul Skidmore, District 9, Jeff Rosenberg, President of Veridian Homes, Eric Knepp, Madison Parks Superintendent and the 1000 Oaks Neighborhood residents and neighbors will officially open Thousand Oaks Park on Thursday, August 9 at 3:00pm. The public is invited to attend and enjoy delicious Chocolate Shoppe ice cream, face painting and more thanks to Veridian Homes.
“Thousand Oaks Park is another great example of how public and private partnerships can deliver the kind of amenities the City of Madison and our residents expect. Congratulations to City of Madison Planning, Engineering and of course Madison Parks for working together to provide this beautiful public park at least three years in advance of its schedule,” said Jeff Rosenberg, President of Veridian Homes.
The development and construction of Thousand Oaks Park is a partnership with Veridian Homes and Madison Parks using park impact fees from the 1000 Oaks Neighborhood development. As part of the new subdivision, this 15-acre park features an open field, a reservable 20’ x 32’ shelter, walking paths, a council ring seating area and a play area with amenities perfect for children. The natural elements in the play area include a split log balance beam, and a “rock” climber, plus a ZipKrooz® two-way zip line and a playground with swings.
