Many Voices, One Community Radio Hosts Block Party Event with Library Support
Madison Public Library and Many Voices, One Community Radio WWMV-LP 95.5 FM is hosting a community block party event as part of the Library Takeover program on Saturday, May 11 at the Goodman South Madison Library.
The family-friendly indoor/outdoor celebration will feature live local music, dancing, kids’ activities, food, and more. Live performers will include Alise Mosley, K. Sankofa, The Hitterz Collective, Crown Vic, Homemade, and Kilo aka Skitlz of Bloodline, plus DJ Stacktrace hosted by Rob Dz. Kilo, DJ Stacktrace, and Rob Dz were all nominated for Madison Area Music Awards in their respective fields this year.
Many Voices, One Community is a low powered radio station that is volunteer-operated and promotes community members’ ideas and creativity, specifically those who have been underrepresented on the Madison airwaves. Their event was chosen as part of Madison Public Library’s 2018-2019 Library Takeover program.
The Library Takeover project encourages the community to “take over” Madison Public Library by providing space, time, resources, and library event planning expertise for residents to learn to host their own events. Library Takeover is made possible in part by Madison Public Library Foundation, Marvin J. Levy, and the Gerald M. Kline Family Foundation.
The Many Voices, One Community Block Party takes place on Saturday, May 11 from 12:00—5:00pm at Goodman South Madison Library.
