Statement of Mayor Rhodes-Conway Regarding Arson Investigation

I am pleased that Madison Police and agents with the Office of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have a person of interest in custody in connection with the recent firebombing of the City County Building. This was an incredibly serious crime that could have resulted in the serious injuries or deaths of not only of city and county employees, but also the vulnerable populations at the Dane County Jail and Juvenile Detention Center.
There is a reward for information related to this crime and I encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.
