Lane and Street Closures – East Doty Street and Wilson Street
Starting Monday, May 13, MG&E will replace their duct bank package on E. Doty Street in preparation for the continuation of the Doty Street & Wilson Street reconstruction project. During this time, E. Doty Street will be limited to one travel lane until August 16 when the closed lane will reopen and that portion of E. Doty street will be temporarily converted to two-way traffic lanes while the 100 Block of E. Wilson Street is fully closed to through traffic for reconstruction.
Reconstruction segment closure timeline:
- E. Doty Street, from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to King Street
- 5/27 – 8/16: Limited to one eastbound travel lane
- 8/16 – 11/8: Limited to two eastbound travel lanes and one westbound travel lane
- Wilson Street, from South Carroll Street to South Franklin Street.
- 100 Block of E. Wilson Street
- 5/27 – 8/16: Two westbound travel lanes
- May change dependent on private redevelopment project.
- 100 Block of E. Wilson Street
- 8/16 – 11/8: Closed to through traffic
- Remainder of the Wilson Street segment
- Limited to one lane during construction.
- 100 Block of E. Wilson Street
Proposed work includes replacement of the asphalt pavement and road base, replacement of the sanitary sewer main and laterals, replacement of storm sewer, installation of new curb and gutter, and replacement of sidewalk and drive aprons as needed. This project is a continuation of the Wilson Street and Broom Street project completed in 2023.
