Lane and Intersection Closures – University Ave and N Lake St

Starting 7:00am on Monday, June 24th, R.G Huston will begin construction on the Lake Street Sanitary Replacement Project. This project starts on the south side of University Ave at N. Lake St and extends north to 441 N. Lake St.

Phase 1: Northbound N. Lake St will close

• Access to the University Square Parking Garage and Lake & Johnson Parking Garage entrances will be maintained at all times.  
• Southbound traffic will not change.  
• Left turns will be restricted from westbound University Ave onto southbound N. Lake St. 
  • Left turns will only be permitted from 7:00am to 9:00am & 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

Phase 2: Intersection of University Ave & N. Lake St

The contactor will be working in the intersection requiring several lanes to close.  Closures will begin at the University Ave & Frances St intersection.

• Weekday work with allow northbound traffic on N. Lake St to turn left onto University Ave, but no traffic will be allowed through the University Ave intersection.
• Weekend work may close northbound N. Lake St from Johnson St to University Ave and close left turns from University Ave to N. Lake St during this time.  University Ave may be reduced to one lane between Frances St and N. Lake St.

Phase 3: Intersection of University Ave & N. Lake St

Northbound traffic on N. Lake St will be permitted to turn left or continue through the University Ave intersection.  Northbound N. Lake St, between University Ave and Langdon St, will be restricted to northbound traffic only.

The contractor is expected to finish all work within the University Ave intersection by July 26th. General construction is expected to last until the end of August.
