Celebrate National Voter Registration Day!

Tuesday, September 17, is National Voter Registration Day. The City Clerk’s Office encourages all voters to verify their registration at https://MyVote.wi.gov(link is external).

Eligible voters who have a Wisconsin driver license or Wisconsin ID may register to vote at https://MyVote.wi.gov(link is external). If your address is not up-to-date with the DMV, you’ll want to update that online first.

The City Clerk’s Office will hold Voter Registration Drives throughout the city this week.

Proof of Address

Proof of address(opens in a new window)(link is external) is required when registering to vote. These documents can be used to prove your address:

  • Utility bill that covers a time frame within the past 90 days (water, gas, electric, cable, internet, landline or cellular phone)
  • Bank or credit union statement
  • Current and valid Wisconsin driver license or Wisconsin identification card
  • Paycheck or paystub
  • Document issued by a unit of government
  • Check issued by a unit of government
  • Residential lease effective on the day of registration (not accepted for registrations sent through the mail)
  • Affidavit from an agency (public or private) providing homeless services
  • Edgewood College fee statement, accompanied by an Edgewood College student ID
  • Intake document from a residential care facility

The goal of the City Clerk’s Office is that each eligible voter will be able to cast a ballot and have that ballot counted.
