Interim Police Chief Shares Vision for the Department: D7 Virtual Lunch and Learn with Madison Police Department Leadership

posted

Alder Nasra Wehelie invites you to attend her final D7 Lunch and Learn, a unique opportunity to learn and engage. Featuring Interim Police Chief John Patterson and Captain Timothy Patton, this event is the culmination of Alder Wehelie's commitment to keeping residents informed on the work being done at the City of Madison. We would like to thank Alder Wehelie for her dedication and invite you to be part of this exciting event.

“I have been honored to serve my residents and Madison community and to create opportunities for meaningful dialogue between our government and the public. I have truly enjoyed hosting educational sessions that address timely and important issues. I want to express my gratitude to my constituents who have engaged with me, the city staff, and other residents from various districts. I also want to thank Council staff for their work to facilitate these sessions.” Says Alder Wehelie.

For the final Lunch and Learn of her term, Alder Wehelie welcomes Chief Patterson, who stepped into his leadership role in February. He will outline his vision for the police department, which is set to significantly impact our community. His commitment to strengthening community partnerships, enhancing public safety initiatives, and cultivating a culture of transparency and accountability is ready to propel our community forward.

West District Captain Timothy Patton will join him, sharing critical insights into the latest public safety data for the west side of Madison. This vital information will encompass crime statistics and key indicators that empower law enforcement, elected officials, and residents to remain informed.

Following their presentations, we invite community members to participate in an interactive Q&A session. This is not just a presentation, but a platform for you to voice your questions or provide feedback verbally or through the chat box. You can also submit your questions in advance to Lorissa Banuelos, Community Engagement Strategist, at lbanuelos@cityofmadison.com. Please include "March 19 Lunch and Learn question" in the subject line to ensure your voice is heard.

This event is free and open to all residents, but we encourage you to register in advance. By registering, you will receive essential login information to participate. Don't miss the chance to be part of this important discussion—register today at www.cityofmadison.com/LunchandLearnD7!
