Mayor Takes on Horned Frogs in Friendly Rose Bowl Wager
When the UW Badgers take on the TCU Horned Frogs in the Rose Bowl on January 1, there will be more than bragging rights on the line. Mayor Dave Cieslewicz and Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief announced today they have placed a friendly wager on the outcome of the game. "I talked with Mike Moncrief the other day and he seems like a really nice guy. And, I've been to Fort Worth and it's a great community. I'm also sure that TCU is a fine university," Mayor Dave Cieslewicz said. "But, the Horned Frogs? Please. We have Bucky Badger and they have a frog with horns. What else needs to be said?" If the Badgers win, Mayor Moncrief will don a Wisconsin hat and jersey at the next Fort Worth City Council meeting. If TCU wins, Mayor Cieslewicz will wear a TCU hat and jersey at Madison's next City Council meeting. In addition, if Wisconsin wins, Mayor Moncrief will kick in a pair of Justin boots, produced in Fort Worth. And if TCU wins, Mayor Moncrief will receive one of Wisconsin's premier local products, a Trek Allant in Badger red and white. "Fort Worth is proud of everything Coach Gary Patterson and the TCU football team have accomplished this year, and we want to show our support in every way possible," Moncrief said. "We know that Madison is as proud of their Wisconsin team, and will back the Badgers with as much fervor as the TCU fans back the Frogs." "While I appreciate the mayor's enthusiasm, I have no doubt the Badgers will end TCU's winning streak," Mayor Cieslewicz said. "Mayor Moncrief will look great in Wisconsin red and white."
