Toast to Tenney, Feb. 12, 10a.m. - 1p.m.

A celebration of the past, present and future of Tenney Park Shelter February 12, 10a.m. - 1p.m. Ceremony at 11a.m with Mayor Dave, Kevin Briski, Madison Parks Superintendent, and members of the Tenney Park Shelter fund raising group. Join us as we celebrate the past, present, and future of Tenney Park Shelter. The current Tenney Park shelter is over 60 years old. This shelter has been the site of countless skating parties, family reunions, weddings and special events. It is one of many places where families have made memories. Thanks to a generous donation from the John Wall Family and donations from the community, a new shelter at Tenney Park will become a reality. Bring your children, your grandparents, your best friends and join us as we reminisce and create new memories at Tenney Park. Beginning Saturday through Valentine's Day, everyone is invited to fill out a special paper heart and post it on walls of the shelter. Maybe you had your first kiss at Tenney Park or maybe you used to enjoy fishing with your grandpa in the lagoon. Share your memory! Music to skate or dance to will be provided by Music for You DJ's. Even if you don't have any skates, you can still join in on the fun. Tenney Park does have skate rentals, but there is a limited inventory. Everyone is encouraged to dress up and have fun - wear your Halloween costumes, or your favorite sports team jersey (GO PACKERS!) or even break out that old prom dress! Event Timeline: 10a.m. - 1p.m. Music for skating and dancing Fill out paper hearts memories of Tenney Park 11a.m. Toast to Tenney Park Ceremony with Mayor Dave, Kevin Briski, and members of the Tenney Park Shelter Group Noon Take a break from dancing and try your luck with Ducks on Ice - a game that requires great skill and accuracy. Not really! Just a fun game to celebrate the Toast to Tenney. 12:45p.m. A costume parade around the frozen lagoon! Start at the shelter, and follow the leader around the rink. In addition to the Toast to Tenney, Madison Parks is encouraging everyone to bring a non-perishable food item as we extend our Winter Food Drive. Madison Parks, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, is extending the food drive for one more week. Collection barrels are located at Tenney Park, Vilas Park, Elver Park, Warner Park Community Recreation Center and the Madison Parks Administration office. Support your community as you enjoy an afternoon of skating!
