Celebrate Music and Play at the 4th Annual Hawthorne Hootenanny

posted

Madison, WI –

Madison Public Library is gearing up for the 4th annual Hawthorne Hootenanny at Hawthorne Library on Saturday, November 4 from 10:00am-1:00pm. All are invited to sing, clap, and dance during this lively celebration of music and play.

The Hootenanny will feature performances by local musicians like Dave Landau and Yid Vicious, as well as a square dancing demonstration by members of the Westport Squares of Madison.

Artists and community members will host a number of family-friendly activities like screen-printing with Lesley Numbers, celebrating Frida Kahlo with Barb Alvarado, making fossil hats with the Wisconsin Geological Survey, and playing around with an instrument zoo, as well as hands-on art and face-painting throughout the day.

Refreshments have been generously donated by MOKA and Willy Street Co-op.

More than 850 people attended last year’s event, made possible by the Friends of Hawthorne Library. The library is excited for another successful event that brings families and the community closer together.

Hawthorne Hootenanny takes place on Saturday, November 4 from 10:00am-1:00pm at Hawthorne Library (2707 E. Washington Ave).

Event Schedule:

10:00am: Dave Landau
11:15am: Yid Vicious
12:30pm: Westport Squares
