8/25/2023 Update:
The project was presented at the 8/23/2023 Board of Public Works meeting. The Board approved the plans, specifications, and assessments.
Project Overview
The City plans to reconstruct Hawthorne Court between University Avenue and State Street. The proposed project includes replacement of underground utilities (storm sewer and sanitary sewer) as well as replacement/installation of street infrastructure such as roadway base, concrete pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveway aprons, and lighting.

The City of Madison is pursuing a new development opportunity for the State Street Campus Garage that will be a mixed-use project containing an intercity bus terminal, public parking structure, ground floor retail, and student housing. This multi-agency project includes Engineering, Parking Utility, and the Economic Development Division of DPCED.
