2024 Metro Transit Roadeo
Please join us August 17th, 2024 at the Hanson Road Bus Facility for Metro's Bus Roadeo competition, an Open House for the new BRT/ electric charging bus facility and the annual Safety Banquet.
There will be yard games (bags..etc), a remote control bus roadeo, a raffle, music, and bus operator Tim Purcell on the mic!!! (Also, potentially 2 hours of face painting provided by Radiant Smiles.)
Each person that attends receives a raffle ticket.
Items being raffled off include:
- Complimentary one night stay at The Hilton Milwaukee City Center Hotel
- Complimentary one night stay at the Delafield Hotel
- (4) $25 gift cards
- 2 swag bags provided by QStraint
- A remote control bus
- Roadeo T-shirts

| 11a | End Roadeo competition tally scores Local 120 and our service committee members will be serving up Burgers/Brats and Hot dogs along with other sides and beverages. |
| 11:30a | Speakers, if any and Start Roadeo Awards, Safety Awards (15, 17, 20 and 25 year recipients) and Raffle announcements (throughout the event) |

The Roadeo will take place rain or shine, but not if there is lightning or any type of severe weather threat.

Who: All Metro employees and their families may attend the event. There will be a competition for our bus operators and one for mechanics (must also meet criteria).
What: Driving competition, Safety Banquet and Hanson Rd. Open House.
Where: Hanson Rd. Facility
When: Main event is Saturday, August 17. Practice dates TBD. All practicing will be in unpaid status.
*The winner of our Roadeo will represent Metro at the 2025 National Roadeo Competition in Austin, TX.
Criteria for Participants:
- Must be employed as full time or part time employee for more than 6 months.
- Must have no preventable accidents in the past year.
- Must have less than 4 failure to report to work infractions in the past year.
- Must have no suspensions without pay for punitive action not relating to failure to report within past year. Suspension with pay do not qualify.
- No more than 2 negative feedbacks in the past year.
If you are unsure if you meet the criteria, please ask an operations manager or supervisor.
Driving Competition Includes:
- Pre-Trip Inspection
- Bus Obstacle Course: Serpentine, Offset Street, Rear Duals Clearance, Right Turn, First Customer Stop, Left Hand Reverse, Left Turn, Second Customer Stop, Right Hand Reverse, Diminishing Clearance, Judgement Stop, Safety Habits, Smoothness of Operations.
