Project Overview
The proposed project will construct an approximately 0.3-mile-long, shared-use path that will connect an existing path from the underpass at S. High Point Road to Zor Shrine Place, extending the next phase of the on-going West Towne Path corridor, which is a long-term goal of the City of Madison to connect the far-westside to the greater Madison bike network. The proposed off-street, asphalt path will be 10-ft wide and follow parallel to the W. Beltline Highway. The proposed project will also include a north-south path connection from the mainline West Towne Path to the Zor Shrine Place cul-de-sac. A portion of the proposed path will be constructed on already established easements from the current Zor Shrine development project at 575 Zor Shrine Place. The remaining section of path will be construction on WisDOT Highway Right-of-Way. No impacts to the W. Beltline Highway lanes, shoulder, or guardrail are anticipated. A future phase will connect this section to the Gammon Rd underpass to the east.
