Incident Details
Firefighters responded to 1309 Woodvale Drive for a fire reported behind the address.
Upon arrival, Engine Co. 5 found a shed (approximately 10x12 feet) fully engulfed in flames. The shed was at least 40 feet away from other structures. While making their way back to the shed, firefighters noted several power lines hanging low over the shed and one power line down at the back of the property line with a large tree limb hanging on it.
Engine 14 arrived on location and provided water supply to Engine 5. Engine 5, with the assistance of Medic 5, was able to knock down the fire. Engine 5 and Medic 5 remained on scene to extinguish any remaining hot spots.
There was a large amount of fire wood in the shed, which contributed to the growth of the fire. Firefighters removed a large amount of fire wood from the shed and completed overhaul on the structure as well.
The fire is believed to be related to arcing power lines resulting from a fallen tree in the backyard.
