West Washington Avenue Reconstruction Impacts

posted

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of June 3 on the reconstruction of West Washington Avenue and South Henry Street.

The City’s contractor, Integrity Grading and Excavating, will shift traffic lanes on West Washington Avenue between Broom Street and Fairchild Street. Traffic will be shifted to the southeast side of West Washington Avenue as the project starts. One lane of through traffic in each direction will remain open for the duration of the project. Access to driveways will be maintained for local residents.

South Henry Street between West Washington Avenue and West Main Street will be fully closed to through traffic during construction. The street will be open to local traffic only.

Pedestrian walkways will be maintained on at least one side of each street, through the work zone, at all times.

Construction is expected to last until October, with the traffic pattern returning to normal upon completion of the project.

Details and updates regarding the street reconstruction project can be found on the project website.
