Public Information Meetings

• Metro Public Hearing Scheduled - Wednesday, July 31, 2024: On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, Metro Transit and the City of Madison Transportation Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:00 PM to review and discuss proposed new service to Monona as well as Metro’s updated Service Equity Analysis.

• Public Invited to Celebrate Madison’s Sister Cities - Sunday, July 28, 2024: For nearly four decades, Madison has been enriched by lasting and meaningful relationships worldwide through its sister city programs. The community is invited to celebrate these global connections at a free reception at the Overture Center, featuring a photo exhibit. 
• Parks Alive (Elver Park) - Monday, July 29, 2024: Parks Alive builds stronger neighborhoods and connects neighbors to their parks through fun, family-friendly activities, music, and free food. Events are held in parks across the city and throughout the summer. Connect with your neighbors and engage with your community at a Parks Alive event near you!
• Capitol City Band Concert in the Park - Thursday, August 1, 2024: Old-fashioned free concerts in the park by the Capitol City Band with toe-tapping familiar music for all ages and all cultures. Bring a friend, bring your chairs; enjoy the music on a beautiful summer evening; rain or shine!
• Movie at Goodman Pool - Saturday, August 3, 2024: Enjoy free evening admission and a movie at the Goodman Pool! The pool will close at 5:00 PM and reopen at 5:30 PM with free admission! The movie will begin at 5:45 PM. 

News & Announcements

• In-Person Absentee Voting Begins, Tuesday, July 30, 2024: Check our In-Person Absentee Voting website for locations and hours. The last day to vote absentee in person will be Sunday, August 11, 2024.
• Pertussis (Whooping Cough) Cases Rising in Dane County: Public Health Madison & Dane County is alerting the community about an outbreak of pertussis, also known as whooping cough.
• Madison Celebrates Installation of First Air Quality Monitor: The City’s air quality monitoring network will measure particulate matter concentrations in neighborhoods throughout the city.
