Cart Placement
- Put carts out by 6:30am on your collection day.
- Put carts at the end of your driveway or on the terrace, or edge of the road on top of the curb.
- Do not put carts in the street
- Carts must be at least 4 feet from trees, cars, other collection carts, and other obstructions.
- Putting trash cart one of side of your driveway, and recycling cart on the other side of your driveway would be perfect (if there is space to do it this way)
- The white serial numbers on the front of the cart should face the road.
What about snow?
Do not put carts on or behind a snowbank. In the winter, shovel your driveway or terrace and put your cart in the shoveled space.
Collection in alleyways?
If your collection is in an alley, put carts at edge where the private property meets the alleyway. Do not leave the carts up against a building or garage.
Multiple carts?
If you use multiple carts for your home or business, do not stack carts one behind the other.
Put them side-by-side, shoulder to shoulder style. Leave enough space between each cart so they can be lifted and emptied. We ask for four feet of space between each cart so we can grab them with the collection truck without knocking over other carts.
We know this is tough in spots with limited space, so please do your best.
