Answering multiple questions about the censure resolution

Hello,

I continue to receive calls with questions about the censure resolution regarding Alder Charles Myadze (D18) so today's blog post is to answer those questions.

Q: Where can I read the resolution to censure Ald Myadze?

Q: How do I share my concerns with Common Council on this issue?

A: You can email all Alders by sending an email to: allalders@cityofmadison.com.

Please note that if you don't want to have your email be received by Alder Myadze, you will need to enter each of the 19 other email addresses. You would enter: district1@cityofmadison.com through district20@cityofmadison.com , BUT skip District18@cityofmadison.com.

Q. What is a censure resolution?

A. The resolution for censure is symbolic, and will not remove Alder Myadze from the Common Council. It sends the message that members of the Common Council disapproves of Alder Myadze's conduct.

Q. When is the resolution coming to Common Council?

A: It will be introduced at our next meeting (virtual only) on November 26, 2024. Because it's being introduced, there will not be an opportunity for public comment, discussion and no vote will be taken. It comes back for public comment, discussion and a vote on December 10, 2024.

Q. Did my Alder support the resolution?

A. I have signed on the support the resolution. Read the most current list of Alders who have signed on to support the resolution.

Q. Where can I read the investigative report concerning Alder Myadze?

A. Alder Bennett (D2) has disclosed publicly that she was one of the persons who filed a formal complaint. You can read about her experience and find links to the report in her recent blog post.
