Where are you stationed?

Fire Station 9 (Midvale Blvd) on the 'C' shift

Why did you want to work for the Madison Fire Department?

I spent some time volunteering for smaller departments outside of Madison previously, but since I live in Madison, I really wanted to be able to serve my own community and have more patient contact with them.

What was your career prior to MFD?

Before getting hired with Madison Fire Department, I worked as a medical lab technician in the hospital for five years, which I obtained a degree in. Some of the knowledge from one job to the other crosses over, but they are both different at the same time.

Looking back at the Recruit Academy, what do you remember the most?

My favorite part of the whole academy was Smoke Divers week. It was such a cool experience. We also had really great conversations in the trucks on the way back, all together, about what we all just went through, which I won’t forget.

What do you do when you're not working at MFD?

In my free time I really like to be outdoors either running, hiking, backpacking, or camping. I also stay busy with a part-time job as a medical lab technician at Meriter Hospital.
