Ice Skating in Madison Parks Starting Today

posted

Ice skaters, rejoice! Tenney Park and Vilas Park lagoons and many rinks are opening today and this weekend for free ice skating! Bring your own skates or rent at Elver, Tenney, and Vilas with staff available:

  • Friday: 4-8pm
  • Saturday: 12-8pm
  • Sunday: 12-6pm

Hockey

  • Elver: open
  • Vilas: open, without boards

At the time of publishing, Elver Park is the only rink open with boards for hockey. We anticipate ground conditions will allow the boards to be installed next week at several locations. Look for updates on our website.

Skate Rentals
$6/adult first hour, $3/youth first hour with each additional hour $2 for adult or youth.

Loaner Skates
Borrow a pair of skates while at Olbrich Park. Limited sizes are available from inside the warming shelter. Other locations will offer loaner skates once the rink is open for the season.

Plan a Group Outing
Reserve a winter recreation party for your group. All winter activities depend on the weather and conditions and are subject to change.

Winter Clothing Drive
Donate new or gently used winter clothing at select locations by January 31. See Winter Clothing Drive for locations.

Outdoor Activity Events
Join us for Groove & Glide, Candlelight Hike or Walk, Skate Cinema and more! Events are free to attend and open to the community. See winter events for details.
