Madison LakeWay (Lake Monona Waterfront) Survey

We want to hear from you! Madison Parks needs your input on the first phase of the Madison LakeWay (Lake Monona Waterfront) development initiative.

The focus of the first phase of development is creating a linear lakeshore park along the John Nolen Drive causeway. The project area includes 0.6 miles of public lakeshore and details and plans for the proposed improvements are available on the project website.

Thank you to the nearly 200 community members who attended a recent public meeting. The meeting recording and presentation materials are now posted on the project website. After viewing the proposed park design, please take a short survey to have your say on the future Madison LakeWay improvements.

The project timeline includes completing the schematic design by early 2025, continuing design development through 2026, and construction anticipated to begin in 2027. Reconstruction of the John Nolen Drive causeway is scheduled to commence this October. Madison Parks is working closely with other City agencies to coordinate these improvements with the John Nolen Drive reconstruction.
