Reflecting on her experience, she shared her excitement with Madison365, expressing deep appreciation for the support she received, especially from her daughter, Mary. Sarah’s enthusiasm and gratitude highlight the personal significance of her accomplishment.
Mary Wells played a crucial role in this process, assisting her mother with the technological aspects of online learning. She helped Sarah navigate email and the Internet, ensuring she could fully participate in her live online classes. Despite facing health challenges, Sarah remained dedicated and engaged, showing remarkable resilience and determination. Mary’s support and Sarah’s perseverance underscore the powerful impact of family encouragement and the boundless nature of learning and personal growth at any age.
Her involvement in local initiatives, like donating money to the Center for Black Excellence and One City Schools, demonstrates her dedication to making a positive impact.
When asked about people who feel they are too old to embark on new endeavors, Sarah's message is clear and inspiring: "Look at me. I’m the perfect example! It’s never too late!" Her decision to take advantage of the “senior auditor” policy at UW further underscores her belief that learning, and growth are lifelong pursuits.
