Historical Ridership

Numbers are not official at this point, because Metro is in the process of getting its APC equipment certified with the FTA.

Metro staff feel this APC data much better reflects rides taken out on the street and is excited to share this unofficial information until the certification process is officially complete at the end of the year.

Certification Information

Metro’s current farebox counting system is its current official way of collecting ridership. However, the equipment is failing and past its useful life.

Due to equipment issues as well other occurrences during the launch of BRT this Fall, Metro is aware that not all rides are being accurately recorded.

Due to this missing data, Metro’s officially farebox count is lower than what is initially being shown by its new APC equipment.

Complete Details on Recent Data Collection

Despite not operating correctly and causing missing data, this information is what Metro has certified to report to the FTA’s national database.

Once Metro’s new equipment is fully certified, Metro will move completely away from using farebox data.
