Incident Details
The Madison Fire Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting fire on the 5000 block of Blazing Star Drive. Flames and smoke were visible from Fire Station 14, located nearby, as firefighters suited up to respond.
Ladder Co. 14 arrived to find a 30-foot recreational vehicle fully involved, with flames pouring out of every window and breaking through the roof. About 50 yards away from the RV was a 30x30-foot patch of grass on fire.
Crews used two hose lines to attack the fires. After all fire was extinguished, firefighters searched for victims inside or near the RV, and no victims were found.
Madison Police advised that the occupant of the RV had fled. MPD continued to search for the occupant as the MFD Fire Investigation Team arrived on scene to investigate the cause of the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
