Prioritizing Traffic Safety for All Road Users: D7 Virtual Lunch and Learn with Traffic Engineering

posted

Dear neighbors,

I am excited to continue my Lunch and Learn session for this month, featuring Traffic Engineering on Thursday, February 20, from 12 to 1 p.m. Whether you drive, bike, or walk, this virtual Lunch and Learn will offer residents a unique opportunity to gain insights into traffic safety and infrastructure planning.

You will hear from Dr. Yang Tao, Director of Traffic Engineering, who will discuss Vision Zero, a strategy to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries while increasing safe, healthy, and equitable mobility for all road users. Dr. Tao will also discuss the various projects planned for District 7.

This session will include a presentation by Dr. Tao and an interactive Q&A, providing more valuable knowledge on how traffic engineering impacts our daily commutes and safety. Attendees can ask questions or express feedback verbally or in the chat box. They can also submit their questions in advance to Lorissa Banuelos, Community Engagement Strategist, by emailing lbanuelos@cityofmadison.com. Please include the "February 20 Lunch and Learn question" in the subject line.

This event is free and open to all residents. To attend this Lunch and Learn, please register in advance. You will receive login information after registering at www.cityofmadison.com/LunchandLearnD7
